I'm absolutely thrilled to share some exciting news for Switch Equine! Our work highlighting the positive impact of horses on the environment has been featured in the latest (March 2025) issue of InPractice Magazine!

InPractice is the quarterly magazine for members of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), the leading professional body for ecologists and environmental managers. It's a key resource for professionals in the field, making this a wonderful opportunity to share our perspective and connect with the ecological community.

My article delves into the often-overlooked benefits of working with horses to enhance our environment. Drawing on examples from various conservation grazing projects, as well as our own experiences here at our smallholding, I aim to demonstrate how even small, thoughtful changes involving horses can lead to significant positive impacts on biodiversity and ecological health within the UK and beyond.

I truly believe that collaboration across different sectors is key to achieving meaningful environmental progress. This article is a step towards bridging the gap between equine management and ecological principles, particularly within the context of the UK's unique landscapes and conservation challenges .

With kind permission from CIEEM I have posted the article below and I would be absolutely delighted to hear your thoughts and feedback. Please feel free to get in touch (here) – I'm eager to discuss the ideas presented and learn from your perspectives.

Thank you for your continued support!
